The new version of Disk Password Protection 5.6 introduces support for the latest Microsoft UEFI CA 2023 certificates, improved compatibility with modern systems, and expanded platform support.
Support for modern UEFI systems
In Version 5.6, the UEFI boot protection modules have been updated.
They are now signed with the Microsoft UEFI CA 2023 certificate, ensuring proper operation on new systems with the latest Secure Boot requirements.
Windows ARM64 support
The program is now fully compatible with 64-bit Windows versions for ARM processors, including modern Snapdragon-based devices.
Updated system requirements
Support for Windows XP and Windows Vista has been discontinued.
The minimum supported operating system version is Windows 7 SP1.
Security improvements
Boot password verification now uses the PBKDF2 algorithm, significantly increasing resistance to brute-force attacks and improving overall security.
Improved user interface rendering
The interface has been optimized for systems with high DPI to ensure clear and correct rendering of UI elements.
Fixes
- Fixed compatibility of the OS boot protection module with BitLocker on UEFI systems.
- Resolved an issue where OS boot protection could be disabled after certain Windows updates.
